A Carnival For July; "They Won't Last Long".... How True!

So, some while back while cruising through different blogs, I came across a very, very unique blog called Enlightened Horsemanship Through Touch (metta horsemanship). This blog I think is unlike any other blog out there but I'll let you head on over there and let her explain what the whole deal is. The link will go to the page describing the Carnival, btw.

She also created something called the Carnival of the Horses - a gathering of different blog entries from various blogs all horse related thats posted every month by a different host. I am going to be hosting July's Carnival - I should receive the info today sometime and I will put it up at midnight my time. So If you get a few extra minutes today, head over there and see what she's all about - you'll be there for quite a while reading, I assure you!

**********************************************************

Lets get back on track with the ads, shall we? (Well, as long as this half pound stinker stops walking all over my keyboard while I'M trying to type! I guess the clicking of the keys is too much for one ratty little kitten to resist! Oh, its amazing what a few feedings of wet cat food have done to this starving little ragamuffin...)

The ad features 3 paint horses up for sale. They are all in very poor shape, but the way the add is written they could be ALL be your next world champion. Uh huh.

1 Paint Mare, 2 Paint Stallions - $1 (NW Colorado)

I'm selling these horses for a friend on mine

First Photo: Striker is 9-10 years old. Sired by reigning champions, this special guy produces nothing but painted babies even on solid mares. Owner thinks he is possibly homozygous for the tobiano gene, though he has not been tested for it. He is very calm for a stallion, and a very pretty color that looks like cherry glazed chocolate. Could make a nice competing stallion with the right training. He has been ridden a few times a few years ago, so he sells green and untrained. He is a good solid 14.3h, and could build some massive muscle with some nice green grass to chomp on instead of just hay. $800

Seriously folks, there's hay, but if the horses are still looking that rough, there's something else going on here. He might have been sired by "

reigning champions", but he himself will not be that unless a freaking miracle happens. Why they are breeding him I will NEVER understand, because he's a crappy stallion. And its not just because of his weight. Geld him, and turn him into a great pleasure horse, do gymkhana's on him, mounted shooting, roping, heck whatever. Just stop breeding him, and for heaven's sake, a power pack from Panacur would do wonders here!

Second Photo: Silver Lady is a 4-5 year old grey mare. She is out of a APHA Paint stallion and an Arabian mare. She has the height and build of her sire, but is a bit on the skinny side after this winter and could use some nice green grass. She can be registered with PtHA, and I am looking into the possiblity of more from her pedigree. She has lived in the pasture most of her life and thus is a bit wild. She is starting to be halter broke, and learning to lead. She will soon start saddle training in the next month. Get her and finish her your way before training raises her price. Could make a nice trail or endurance horse. $600

This I think is one of the saddest mare's I've ever seen. Literally. The expression on her face - this is I believe one of the worst pictures I've seen on craigslist yet. If she could talk, I really think she'd be saying "just kill me now". With some TLC, this mare could be absolutely jaw dropping gorgeous. Look at her mane!

I think that the person writing up this ad probably got these horses dumped on them. Three half wild, mature horses that will barely lead, much less anything else is a pretty huge problem. I applaud the halter training (thats the long leads you see). Its a trick with mustangs to get them to teach themselves to give to pressure... they step on the lead and can't lift their head, the only way out of it is to back off and take a step backwards, thus releasing the pressure. Its actually a very humane way to halter break an older horse, once you can get the halter on them, that is. Its also an easier way to catch them if need be out in the pasture.

What I DON'T agree with is the saddle training in just a month. This mare will need much much more time than just 3 weeks before a saddle goes on her back. Thats rushing the job, and it will cause more harm than good in the long run when you have a horse that was half wild, a saddle thrown on its back, and so many holes in the training you can stick a car in it.

What "MY WAY" Would be is to keep working with her daily, get her weight up, and when she doesn't have her hips sticking out like that - THEN consider putting a saddle on her back. But my way would take several MONTHS to do that, not weeks.

This mare is still way too skinny for a saddle anyways. She needs at least another 100 pounds before I personally would feel comfortable putting a saddle on her without running a high risk of saddle sores.

The ad suggests you can register her with the Pinto Registry - well right now the Pinto registry is accepting just about any horse you want to throw at them!

Third Photo: Buster is roughly 5 years old, and 14.2h's. Sire is about right about 14.3h's, and dam was 14.2h's. Sire is a sorrel paint (paint listed above) and dam was a black paint. He is being sold as untrained, and he has never been saddled, though he is being halter broke. He is stout and could make an incredible show horse, but could use some nice green grass to really build up those muscles. He's grandsire is a World Champion Reining Show Stallion. Buster is still a stallion, but can be gelded before pick up. He could be homozygous for the tobiano gene but isn't guarenteed. His sire produces nothing but paints even on solid mares. I will provide more information on pedigree and registering him, once he's paperwork is located by owner. His sire is registered with APHA, so Buster can be registered with PtHA right now. $600

And again we have to ask, why is this horse a stallion? Because whomever owned them threw them in to a pasture and pretty much let them live out there unattended, thats why - for a very, very long time. This is the son of the FIRST stallion above - and they figure Jr here is about 5 years old.

I could go track down how much it would cost to register a 5 year old stallion with Paint - though I'm sure its several thousand dollars. It might be easier just to let his registration go at this point, or get him registered Pinto.

This whole ad is just one big screwed up CF, really. 3 Underweight, untrained, mature horses that barely know what a halter is? Yet this is what is everywhere.

The ad ends with the phrase "They Won't Last Long" - I have to ask what would have happened to them all had they stayed with the owner for another year - I seriously doubt they would have lasted that long.

They would make awesome project horses, I can promise that. The prices are actually decent at least - enough above meat prices to discourage those buyers, but not so high that its ridiculous.

I have the reply link if anyone in the area is interested, just mention it in the comments and I'll send it to you.

**********************************************************
The next week will continue to be a bit unusual in terms of posts. Not a normal week by any means. The Carnival will be tomorrow, then Friday will mark the 100th post. I have the update you have all be asking about - so make sure you come back and read the next two days for sure, you won't want to miss it!

KohKoh who has been 'helping' type this entire time, has made creating this post about 3 times longer than normal with all the backspacing, is now totally passed out on the top of her crate. It is totally and completely adorable. Yes, I crate train my cats, makes life so much easier when it comes to moving them. She has taken to domesticated life with a zest and energy that quite frankly, is wearing ME out. Or maybe its those 1 am and 4 am checks to make sure she uses the litter box if needed, and is fed if hungry......I forgot to mention she's only about 5 weeks old, and not nearly quite big enough to go roaming about the house at night by herself yet. Yes, I am a very nervous kitty mommy, and I would much rather her be safe in her extra large comfy crate on the floor next to the bed than worry about what peice of furniture she's gotten stuck behind!

Anyways, life is a bit more entertaining now, thats for sure!

FFFS - Foxttrotter Gaited Stallion Stud

Well, after getting home last night, I remembered its Thursday. Thursday traditionally is Survivor night, CSI night, and for the last season, Flash Forward night. (Though the bastards at ABC canceled Flash Forward for next year - one of the dumbest moves I've seen in network T.V. yet.) Its also FINALE'S week, which usually means the best episodes of the season.

Once I got home, dinner was first, then it was off to cbs.com, and abc.com for hours of entertainment.

Oh, and yes, I had completely forgotten that Survivor always does a Sunday finale. Silly me. This was ok though, because that meant that I didn't have to anxiously wait for cbs.com to post the nights episode somewhere between 11 am and 2 am. (Yes, I have stayed up till 2 am waiting. Obsession doesn't have reason.) It did turn into another 2am sleepy time after the 2 hour finale, then I just *had* to go find reactionary interviews with the top three, and THEN I found (Way too late) that Jeff Probst has a BLOG? and had to go read THAT. Yea. I've only missed one season out of 20.

My point here is the obvious, there was no ad yesterday lol. Sorry. Between shiny pretty plastic horsies, and the guilty pleasure of Survivor life just happens that way sometimes, ya know? *giggle*.

THERE WILL BE AN AD TODAY!

Let us commence.

So today we have a rather interesting stallion ad, offering up some juicy tidbits.

Starts off with the typical searchword title obnoxiousness.

foxtrotter gaited stallion stud - $4000 coming 5 yr. old registered foxtrotter stud. wait, he's still 4!? saying the horse is a 'coming x year old' does NOT change the fact that the horse is STILL a year younger than you WISH he was. Sante Fe and Missouri Outlaw bloodlines. Have bred him to our mares, oh, of course you have!  he is respectful and will make a great stud. Ah - wait - you JUST SAID YOU ALREADY BRED HIM. that makes him a stud already, not one in the making. We also ride him. oh, thank gods for that! Ride him in what class? Reining? Barrels? Naw, he's a foxtrotter, so he's gaited. That means he just goes trail riding. We also have his 3 yr. old full brother, they are perlino and cremello. OH there it is. The COLOR! So which one is this one, the perlino, or cremello? and is the other a stud too? Have you already BRED him too as a 3 year old?
If nobody needs these guys, we'll cut them and train them as a carriage pair, as we train/work draft mares and don't need the distraction of studs on site. then why don't you just already DO THAT AND SELL HIM AS A GELDING!??? He might actually BE WORTH the $4000 price tag you PUT on him at that point... good well broke harness teams are HARD TO FIND in any color, but in this situation, the added sparkle and pop of having a matched nearly white set - now those horses might be worth $4000.

But as he is now? $4000 is a complete joke.

Thanks,

Kevin
307---2582

My comments of course, are in the blue italics.

After an ad like that, you know what the icing on the cake is!

Check THIS SHIT out.

Yes folks, thats a $4000 horse, right? No - correction - A $4000 STALLION. Rather hard to tell here, but I think that might be the perlino, what with the orangish mane and tail. Though that might just be dirt.

Anyone wanna tell me what that metal contraption on the other side of the wire fence is? I have NO clue. Some sort of plow?  Looks to me like the frame of some sort of funny car, the ones that are like 200 feet long, skinny as hell, and run on jet fuel on the 1/4 mile strips?

Thanks Sue for this one. I think you hit the nail on the head.

I found this lovely, or mostly unlovely ad for a stud for sale for an astronomical price with an ugly picture of him to boot. It's kind of small and the so called stud is hard to see but I think he qualifies as the WTF ugly friday stud of the week. Feast your eyes. (or grab the eye bleach after getting a good look.)

*Passes out the eye bleach*

Monday is the other pool party that I still have to run back up to the school and *ahem* pay for, so Monday's post might also be late if I can't manage to get it written sun night. We'll see what happens.

Have a good weekend all!

The 5 Horse Cluster *F* Deal of a Lifetime!

If I have proven anything on this blog in its short life already, its that people are stupid. They will expect you to literally buy anything they try to sell you, hook, line, and sinker. They cast a wide net, and know pretty soon, some unsuspecting moron is going to bite on the bait they have set, and faster than you can say "hippopotamus" we've got a live one.

I wonder how big of a net the writers of this ad cast...because its a doozy of an offer.

I can just picture it now, the carnival tent, red and white striped, with the ring master standing on his soapbox in all his glory, with his carnies spread around him, fire flaming, balls spinning and knives flashing in the air, the smell of popcorn heavy and seductive. He's yelling out to the crowd, "Come close everyone! Come listen close! Have I GOT the deal for you today! Have you ever wanted to start your own breeding operation in just one day? Have you ever wanted to look out in your pasture and see lots of adorable fuzzy baby horses frolicking around? For the low low price of $5000 you can have JUST THAT!"

Now, picture the blonde in the bikini standing in front of the curtain pulling the drawstring, and the red heavy velvet drapes slowly fold backwards on themselves...

Ad Text (Its LONG, Don't say I didn't warn you!):  For Sale:: AQHA/APHA package Deal. The 2 AQHA mares are exposed to foal in 2010, Sire is an APHA stallion. Grand Son of Smart Little Lena, Son of Little Lenas Legend(NCHA Money Earner). One of the mares is a Grand Daughter to Sonny Dee Bar & a Great Grand Daughter to Dr.Fager(TB). The other Mare is a Great Grand Daughter to Easy Jet & Double Bid. The Stallion also has Peppy San Badger, Doc O’ Lena, Doc Bar, King Fritz & Skipper W. These are Legendary Names in the horse industry right in One Package!!! I searched long a hard for these mares because I need mares that produced correct foals, but they also needed to be SUPER easy keepers & know how to be a horse. These mares can run on crap land & stay nice fat & healthy. They also have wintered now 2 years on the mountain without Assistance! They know how to hack it in Wyoming’s ever changing weather conditions. They LOVE grain & will follow you anywhere too!! We turned the stallion out with them May 09’ so babies could drop here in a month.
The stallion is Amazing & parting with him is a tough decision. He is super easy to maintain, doesn’t require much to keep him fat & happy. He can be pasture or hand bred. Can be pastured with the gelding as well. I have had the youngest of kids around him without having to worry. Just not a mean bone in his body. He was injured when he was younger so never got trained for anything. We have never wanted him for a Saddle horse either, just a stallion. In 2008 he lost his left eye in an accident. If you are thinking you want to get him for a saddle horse I suggest you look at another stallion/horse. If you are trying to start into the horse breeding business this stallion is a good one. Easy to handle & get along with. Easy to catch, stands tied, load/hauls great. Has been hauled into town unloaded & walked around then tied to the trailer. Wasn’t bothered by the commotion. He stand around 14 hands on the smaller side, but built like a TANK with a HUGE hip on him. He too winters with the mares on the mountain without assistance. He now has a 3 year old Filly going to start competing in Reining. We have been VERY impressed with his offspring & there natural abilities.
This is a 3 horse package deal with potential to get 2 babies. I have filed all the paperwork so that the babies will be registered as well. ONLY reason for listing this group for sale is that I moved out of State & can no longer attempt the trips back & forth. I am losing more money trying to do that & I can not bring them to where I live Now Unfortunately……. Price is $5000 for this Package Deal. SERIOUS ADULT INQUIRES ONLY PLEASE…….. I do have some video of the mares & stallion…..If anyone is interested I also have a 4 yr old Gray Quarter Mare(have her AQHA registration application, just never sent it in) who is also exposed to the above stallion to foal 2010. Blue Valentine breeding, I could also add to this package deal for a little more money…
Email us at wrangler_     @yahoo.com. Once we have established you aren’t a scammer we will release our phone number or would be happy to call you too….

Now.  If you managed to make it through all that, congratulations. You get the prize behind door number 3.

If not, l'll sum things up for you. They have 2 mares, whom are going in foal in a month. They were bred to the do nothing, no name stallion, who's only claim to fame is that he can winter with the girls out on the range - Who is also thrown into the deal! They didn't even bother to saddle break him! Advertising that he can be turned out with the herd is NOT a quality that I would look for in a stallion, especially a BREEDING stallion.

Just about the only good thing that would come out of a stud spending time with a bunch of cranky half wild broodmares is they WILL teach him manners. He'll be very respectful of space, and you probably CAN do anything with him, because if he took one bad step out of line, them mares woulda just whaled on him! In a mixed gender herd, the stallions DO NOT rule the herd like most wild west romance novels would have you believe. They are there for two reasons only, to procreate, and to keep his harem together / defend from other stallions.

That is the stallions job in life. Thats it. Summed up into two small sentences.

This ad made the blog because of several reasons.

1 - the no name stallion breeding that shouldn't be.
2 - who can afford 5 horses these days!? There is no need to keep this herd together like this. Break it up and sell independently if you are targeting family buyers. A decent breeding operation might be interested in a deal like this for the mares, broodmares with damn good lines are being sold off like this for pennies on the dollar, but without the market to purchase the foals, the mares are worth little to nothing.
3- Who the hell says that they are running their horses on "crap land" and THEN says they didn't help feed them during the winter? Did they totally ignore the horses for months, then suddenly decided they didn't want the horses anymore? Have the horses been wormed? Vaccinated? Feet trimmed?
4- They don't want the stallion sold as a riding horse because of his eye missing? Total BS if I've ever heard it.

We discussed riding blind horses -  horses going blind in both eyes due to Moon Blindness. This is NOT the same case. This horse has a fully functional eye still on one side of his head, and I've known plenty of animals, with hooves, paws, or feet, that do very well with just one eye. I bet there is something else with that stud that they don't want anyone to know about - some reason that they don't want him ridden. I just can't see anyone being that stupid to say a horse can't be ridden with just one eye. I'd trust a horse with one eye a TON more than a horse with moon blindness - and many of you would do the same.

5- who really has the money to raise 2 foals right now, with the intention of keeping them?  Theoretical question I know, but many many people don't have that ability right now.

Cause and Effect

Two ads today to make up for the lack of an ad yesterday :). That article was just so darn thought provoking I had to post it.

On to todays Ads!

#1. Lets start out with... something beyond irritating, yet not quite blow your lid horrible.

Photobucket

Photobucket

Ad Text: 10 month old Stud Colt Very Flash! $750 or make offer. He is very sweet and has been handled alot. Call David              or email Robin

And this is why those of us that feel the need to scream bloody murder from the rafters about the current condition of the horse industry ARE SCREAMING BLOODY MURDER in the first place!

So poor little baby Tonto here has to suffer the indignities of having some ignorant ass**** pretend hes a big all-growed-up horse and be SADDLED. You wanna bet me 5 bucks he's been RIDDEN TOO? Whats to stop the owners from merely being satisfied with saddling up a 10 MONTH OLD BABY!? At least they have the small tiny amount of sense to put the baby up for sale and hopefully someone will have already snatched that guy up and done right by him a little. A gelding surgery at that age is simple and easy, and relatively inexpensive - barring any issues like Cryptorchidism. Then for gods sakes, just let the baby grow up!

In just 2 months, this is the third ad I have found that shows a horse under the age of 12 months either just saddled, or saddled and being ridden. This is just... I don't have the words to explain how much I think people are really ignorant sometimes.

What would happen if this little stud colt were to be purchased by the wrong people? Say ... idk... Parents of a horse crazy little girl?

#2. Perfect scenario of Bad Parental Judgement when it comes to horses.

I KNOW this one is going to make you all want to scream, throw things, and otherwise have a mental break down. So don't say I didn't warn you!

Photobucket

(no pictures on this one though I'm sure any picture they would post would be just SPECTACULAR!)

Ad Text: Free Horse to good home. Rilie is a two year old stud..Hes in great shape..We got him for an 11 year old girl last year..He is too much for her to handle and has been running with a mare..He does rear up and bites..He needs someone who is EXPERIENCED. Rather than getting him fixed, we chose to get a broke horse for our daughter. He was really gentle until he started feeling his wild oats!!! If interested..I will e-mail photo's..Only contact me if you are serious and really care about animals......Thanks for looking.....

*SCREAMS IN FRUSTRATION*

*takes deep breath.*

Now. Shall I dissect that or not? Hmm, I think the ad speaks for itself. Really horribly.

Ah, what the hell. Why not!

I really believe that the parents of this 11 year old girl need to be given one HELL of a wake up smack in the face. Baseball bats come to mind...I'm not a violent person nor do I condone violence, but OMG, these parents.

This is what happens when the horse ignorant people of the world decide that it would be just so much FUN to have their child 'grow up' with an animal. Dogs, while not generally advised to pair young children with puppies...would still be a MUCH better choice than what these parents chose! BETTER YET... why not a nice safe Hamster or Gerbil? Something that can't REAR UP AND STOMP THE 11 YEAR OLD GIRL TO DEATH!

Why the HELL do people think its ok to buy an UNBROKE (I don't give a damn what the ad says here, any horse that is that out of control is unbroke) 2 year old STALLION for their daughter? This is not "The Black Stallion" here folks. That was a FICTIONAL STORY. IT NEVER HAPPENED. And even if, in some weird twist of the universe, something like it has happened... poor Eric Alec (Edit: typo - sorry!) would have been slammed to the ground, and smashed with hooves.
Expecting an 11 year old girl to be able to handle a untrained, unbroke 2 year old stallion is ASKING for your daughter to end up in a wooden box 6 feet under.

Said 2 year old stallion is 'feeling his wild oats' while 'running with a mare'. This just gets better and better. These idiots are going to be so surprised when their mare starts to get really FAT for "no reason at all"! Then they'll be stuck with another baby... 50% chance another colt...and in a few years, we'll be in the same situation with instead, a 13 year old that most likely still wouldn't be able to handle the demands of a 2 year old stallion.

Today is such a perfect example of cause and effect. If you don't know what the hell you are doing, don't breed horses beCAUSE you might just have the EFFECT of putting a child into the ground.

Friday Featured FUGLY Stallion #3 and An Update

Man oh man is Atlanta a hotbed of horrible stallions! I had such a hard time deciding between them for FFFS #3. I found the FFFS #2 out of the same city, and thought for this week I'd go back to see what I could find. Got a goldmine I tell ya!

Photobucket

Ad Text: NASHDA Index Registered Percheron/Paint 16.2 hh Bay overo very sweet natured and easy to handle. . Stud fee $150

That was the entire ad. How pathetic.

The horse itself... is not really much better. I'm not even going to bother giving him a conformational critique... its so just not worth my time.

Photobucket

Now, I had to ask myself what the heck is NASHDA? And of course, WHY the heck this FUGLY stallion is still a stallion. (Which is rhetorical because if he was gelded, he wouldn't be our FFFS #3, now would he :D)

So, NASHDA is a long acronym for North American Spotted Draft Horse Association. I bolded Draft Horse because our genius stallion promoter here didn't even get the initials in the right order. Its NASDHA.

At any rate, NASDHA is another of these Color based registries that have little to no basis for registering horses except for color standards. They DO however have somewhat of a 'breed standard', though when you are accepting horses based on their color, you tend to have a wide variety of horsey body types to choose from. As long as the horse has draft blood and has spots, they'll still take it in.

Now I will freely admit that some of their stud book stallions aren't that bad looking. Some are downright GORGEOUS.

You wanna talk about jaw-dropping, drop what you are doing and watch this guy go by, drool worthy horse gorgeousness!

Photobucket

Thats Beckers Canadian Commander, or "Commander" as they refer to him. He's located at C&A Farm in Winchendon, MA. They have a video of him working very, very, well under saddle.

NOW THAT is a stallion. That horse is stallion QUALITY. The guy above in comparison? Big Jakey there couldn't hold a candle to Mr. Mane-Nearly-To-His-Knees-And-*GASP*Actually-Being-Ridden-And-Showed. This just proves that you can actually own a stallion, RIDE HIM, DO SOMETHING WITH HIM, instead of him being a pasture ornament and being a waste of space and air!

Speaking of pasture ornaments, FFFS #2 was re-listed today. (Sorry for the long rant before I get to the stallion. It had been a long week.) Turns out she almost had a buyer for him. How very sad for him, I really hope he finds somewhere that will geld him, and give him a LIFE outside of a pasture! (Yes, it is possible to geld a 22 year old stallion. You just need a vet that understands how to do it properly, so it doesn't stress the old guy out too much.)

The First Friday Featured FUGLY Stallion!

Thank you for our reader submitted ad for today!

This week I started the new WTF Wed, and today is the first Friday Featured Fugly Stallion. AAAANNNDDDD.... its a doozy.

Read it and weep.

Photobucket

Yes, it actually says: "hi i have a nise saddlebred stallion at stud $250 he is not for sale hes foal saddlebred/fillie".

Oh, wait - it gets so much better!

Photobucket

Photobucket

Cause who just DOESN'T want to breed to a filthy, fugly, mud surrounded meat market level stallion surrounded by the luxurious trailer accommodations!

I can totally understand the ground being muddy. Heck, its been raining the last 3 out of 5 days here in PHOENIX, AZ this week - but OMG. Is it really that difficult to find a decently clean spot, CLEAN THE HORSE UP A BIT, and take a half way decent picture?

Also, studying the picture where the horse is facing left, while it is very difficult to see, it does at first glance look like the lead rope is wrapped around the horses front right leg, then trails off on the ground. I put the picture into paint shop and zoomed in a bit, and I actually think there is someone standing behind the horse holding the rope and allowing the end to trail under the horse for several feet. If you look very closely just next to the horses' front legs, you can see what looks like a human pant leg. This just adds to the stupidity in my book. These people obviously have NO FREAKIN CLUE what they are doing with a horse, much less with a 'breeding' stallyion!

The sick part ... they ARE ACTUALLY GETTING MARES! Whether from their own herd, or outside its impossible to tell because they don't list a website (OH THE FUN THAT WOULD BE...) but look...

Photobucket

A "fillie". Did I mention that I wanted to slap these people already?

I quote the wonderful reader, Cheryl, when she sent it to me: "Why oh why would anyone in their right mind want to take their mare to this place to be bred to this stallion?  Junky trailer, crappy fencing, nothing but mud & stallion tied to a tree.  Ummm yea - I really want my mare bred in such pristine sanitary conditions.  All that for a $250 breeding to your fugly stallion.  I don't think so.  I do think that they should be nominated for poster child of BYB's."

EXACTLY Cheryl. This is why we have the over surplus of horses that we have. This is why we have the debate surrounding whether to have horses slaughtered within the US Borders. THESE PEOPLE ARE NOT JUST CONTRIBUTING TO THE PROBLEM, THEY ARE THE PROBLEM. I currently have in my ad possibilities list three other ads from IL, every ad has at least 5 horses that have all been bred together and not a single one of any of them has done anything other than wear a halter... and in one ad in particular, I have doubts about even that! (Check back monday for those.)

This poor guy needs a serious upgrade, to someone that will actually understand that he needs to put on about 150-200 pounds, needs WORMED, groomed, and just well.... he's in serious need of a small little surgery called 'GELDING'. His eyes are screaming "Save me!" He obviously deserves sooo much more than he's been giving in life.

I have a serious feeling that once his owners are past the novelty of breeding horses, this guy won't find a great 'forever' home. He's in Fresno, and there are plenty of unscrupulous horse traders that wouldn't think twice about sending this guy up to Washington to the Eunemclaw Auction. For those of you that don't shudder with disgust at that name.... well start reading the fuglyblog.com and you'll understand.

Its these types of ads that make me want to scream, throw things against the wall, and smack the owners upside the head! This is why I started this blog... because otherwise my blood pressure would be 200/150 day in and day out, and quite frankly, my health is pretty important to me.

**************************************************
OT: Off to the side of the blog you will see a new ad for EquineOneStop.com. I found them digging around on facebook I think, and discovered that they offer free directory listings for equine related websites and businesses. After a few minor stumbles in the submit page I managed to get myself listed. Please click on the ad or the link above and check them out.

All right folks, have a good weekend, and I'll see you back here on monday! Keep searching those ads, and send em in. You just might find yourself quoted!
